He was born in Delatin in the Hutsul region in 1944. He died in Przemyśl in 2021. He practiced painting and drawing, and was involved in sculpture and bas-relief. He began his artistic education at art schools in Bielsko-Biala and Jaroslaw. He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in the Department of Sculpture, in the studio of Jacek Puget and then Marian Konieczny, and received his diploma in 1973.
His achievements include polychromes and sacred sculptures, as well as sculptural realizations in the public space of Przemyśl: m. in. “The Gordian Knot,” 1975. He took part in most of the significant group exhibitions of the Przemysl and Rzeszow art circles. Participant in many open-air art events, including. International Meetings of Artists in the village of Slonne, as well as open-air events in Belgium, Slovakia, Austria.
From 1996 to 2004, he presented his work at solo exhibitions in Poland – in Warsaw and Przemyśl; France – in Paris; Austria – in Innsbruck and Malbun; and Belgium – in Antwerp. A retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Przemyśl in 2005, and a Victor Dzhokhovsky Benefis in 2011.
He has won a number of awards and prizes, and in 1998 was a scholarship recipient of the Governor of Przemysl. His works are in museum, church and private collections in Poland, Sweden, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, Greece, Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and also in the USA, Canada and Australia. He lives in Przemyśl.
