Lea and Eve from the Sisters series are images of the artist’s daughters. Extremely expressive representations refer to classical sculpture, demonstrating the artist’s excellent craftsmanship. The children were captured in motion, as if Karkoszka had captured the moment like a frame from a movie. This is a characteristic feature of the artist’s work.
Ida Karkoszka
Visual artist, graduate of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma under Prof. Antoni Janusz Pastwa, annex under Prof. Hanna Jelonek), one of the most interesting and talented sculptors currently working. He uses his art to engage with social, environmental and animal rights issues. She found her own, very personal way of pointing out the problems caused by destructive human activity. Showing the work in the right place and using it in a specific context allows it to have a causal and effective impact on the viewer.
