“(…) the framework of this very cycle [Dzienniki] is constituted primarily by: extreme introversion, Benedictine work and abiding by the effects of the eternal medium. Despite endless rehearsals after
repetitions of the same – seemingly – activities, this painting has nothing mechanical about it. It is instinctive, imprecise, casual. How it comes out. Because although Pawlak hasn’t painted
human figures for a long time, what he paints is incredibly human. The type of this painting humanism of his, although reduced to the simplest gestures, engages our centers both intellectually and emotionally, giving
a total experience. This effect is clearly seen against the backdrop of the disorder of some of today’s art snobbery of scientific discursiveness,
but lacking the workshop dominance of decisions. Pseudooff, because it tolerates the coexistence of irreconcilable rules within one
whole. Where the space of creation is filled with hybrid creations, remaining in relationships with art and among themselves barely phraseological. ~ Andrew Biernacki
