Bio
Jacek Dyrzyński (1946–2025) was a distinguished Polish painter, printmaker, and educator associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He graduated from the Painting Department in 1972, completing his diploma under Professor Aleksander Kobzdej along with a specialization in printmaking. His work is firmly rooted in geometric abstraction, with a consistent focus on visual structure, the square as a compositional form, and complex spatial relations.
For many years he held prominent academic roles: leading the Studio of Visual Actions and Structures, serving as Dean of the Painting Department, and later as Vice-Rector. His achievements were recognised with multiple honours, including the “Gloria Artis” Medal for merit to culture.
