“Tic Tac Toe,” a simple game familiar from childhood, takes on a deeper, metaphorical dimension in Włodzimierza Pawlak’s interpretation. On the canvas, the artist depicts an already completed game, in which victory goes to the cross – a symbol of masculinity. The white, which dominates the painting and is characteristic of Pawlak’s work, emphasizes the finality and severity of the situation depicted, while the black color symbolizes the seriousness of the conflict. Dynamic brushstrokes add an expressive touch to the work, suggesting that the outcome of the game matters more than mere fun.
