One of the most important series in Włodzimierz Pawlak’s oeuvre are the paintings in the “Art Notes” series. The series in small formats has been produced continuously since 1996. The paintings in this series are a kind of sketchbook of the painter. They are a field of experience and ongoing research. As a development of theoretical considerations, the notes take larger forms. Perfect handling of technique and form results in works – notes that are a synthesis of the language of painting and scientific inquiry.
